And what a ride this is. So as of right now we are not going into the OR. I think it must have something to do with all the prayers that are being offered on our behalf. That line up to heaven sure has been busy on our behalf lately.
We do need to remember that things could change in an instant. He obviously will continue to be watched very closely. What happened was at about 2 am on Thursday morning he started to have a lot of bleeding out of one of his chest tubes. Then they kept seeing a mass or clot on top of his left lung. It needed to be removed. Their first attempt was to put another chest tube in. We got some drainage but not enough. So then they went in and did a flush with an enzyme to try to break the clot up. Then all of a sudden he was loosing tons of blood out the chest tubes and thats when his blood pressure dropped down to the 40's and 50's. What they think happened was the enzyme broke up the clot but it also broke clots up that shouldn't have been. So then they put another chest tube in. Thats 6 chest tubes now. But from the last xray and blood gas (tests on his blood) things look like they are improving. But we are still holding our breath because like I said things can change in an instant, just like they did this afternoon.
Again, thank you so so much for the prayers. Obviously they're doing something. And to all those who have made donations. It will help out a lot. We hope to be able to check into the Ronald McDonald house tomorrow, but only if Ashton is doing better. The funds will help. Currently we are just hanging out in the hospital and our car. It's quite comical actually. But a good nights sleep in a bed will be wonderful.

Never been a fan of roller coasters myself... And I'm definitely not liking the one you' re on. I can't imagine how you must be feeling. Great news for now! Praying that things will improve in a big way and only get better from here. Sending more hugs....
I've been glued to my computer all day, thanks for the updates, I'd be there with you if I could. We are grateful for this good news tonight, will keep praying for more good news.
I'm sure things can be touch and go. I am glad for this better news and pray that he will continue to do better. I love you all and always have and can't imagine the amount of strength each of you have to go through this. I don't know that I could do the same. I will not stop praying. (I don't know if others can get into your blog, but I put a link to it on Facebook mentioning a little about Ashton...for those here who know him. I wanted to give them the opportunity to pray for him and for all of you, and to possibly donate).
I've been wondering why I have felt sick to my stomcah the last couple of days--it's the dang roller coaster!! Constant love and prayers for you. You whisper to that kid that Wendy loves him--he had me from Hello! You guys are such an amazing family, my heros! Oh, this is not Larry by the way (ha,ha). Be proud of me, my first comment on a blog, there's hope for the old lady!
Ray, Carolyn, and Kids...I saw the link to your blog on facebook (posted by Erin) Sorry to hear you are going through something so tough. I loved seeing the photos of your family on the blog, I can't believe how big everyone is getting. It has been so long since I have seen any of you. Your grandbabies are adorable. Our family will keep Ashton and your family in our prayers, and we will be hoping for the best for all of you.
