What was I doing 10 years ago?
Ashton was one year old, Keanna was 4, Ambrea was 8, so we had just baptized her, and Nate was 11. Gosh, what were Ray and I doing?? Ray worked for Ultradent (still a sore spot for me) and I was a stay-at-home mom.
5 Things on my today list : (tomorrow) exercise for 30 minutes, cross-guard, straighten up the house, meet Natalee at Michael's, work
Bad Habits? I tend to be late a lot
Places I have lived: Salt Lake, Rose Park, Riverton, Sandy, Bluffdale, Washington (all Utah)
Jobs that I have had:receptionist, secretary, cleaned houses, currently sales associate
Funny things about me: when I was little I had a shirt (it was orange) at it said "dangerous curves" in an "s" shape on my chest. Can you believe my parents let me wear it?!! And duh, I didn't quite understand it. How emberassing!!
I tag...Julie, Keanna and I've probably tagged enough people with all these tags!!

Another Week...

Another week has flown by, but we have had some fun experiences we wanted to share.

First, on Wednesday, Ashton's class took a field trip to Zion's. There was a lot of hiking (thank heavens Ray went) but he had a great time. To see some great pictures click on Ashton's blog where he has posted all about it.

Then on Wednesday night, myself, Keanna, Ambrea and her friend Jordan went to see "Big River" at Tuachan. We had a great time. It was a little cool, but nothing we couldn't handle. We had jackets on and a blanket and it was all good. The show was pretty neat. We went to "Cat's" two years ago, and we did like that better, but we are not complaining about "Big River" at all. After the show we took pictures with some of the actors and by the neat waterfalls.

Ambrea, Keanna and Jordan with an actress.
Keanna, Ambrea and Jordan with "Huck Finn".
Jordan and Ambrea by the water.

Then on Saturday we were up bright and early to go watch Ray participate in Summit Fitness' annual triathalon.
First you had to swim 400 meters.
Then you had to bike for 12 miles.
Then you had to run for 3 miles.
The five of us (me, Keanna, Ashton, Ambrea and Jordan) were there to cheer him on. He did a great job, especially since this was his first triathalon. His weak area is swimming, so he needs to get some practice in on that. It was fun to be there with him, and we then went out to breakfast after that. yum yum The city is supposed to be having one this weekend (if enough people sign up) and he plans on entering that one also.

A Week in Review...

We had a very busy weekend last week. It all started on Friday with Keanna's 14th b-day. I can't believe she is now 14! Wow. She had a very fun party with some of her friends. It all started at 7:00. Her friends met at our house where she opened gifts. She got a lot of fun things. Then I took them to a haunted house - ooh scary. Then I brought them home where they watched a scary movie outside with a projector projected onto a sheet so it was like a big screen. We also had surround sound so it was loud and even more scary. While watching the movie they enjoyed pizza, soda, popcorn and cupcakes. After the movie they "hung out" until midnight. What a fun party. Then of course Saturday was the beginning of conference and the St. George Marathon. KCSG televised it so Ray was there at the finish line helping out. I usually go, but this year I just needed to get some sleep and couldn't get out of bed.

Then on Sunday we had Keanna's family party and dinner. And I made her an Abby cake. (Abby is the fairy from Sesame Street.) I think this is going to become a new tradition - a fun cake for your birthday.

Also on Sunday it was Ray and I's anniversary - 24 years. That sounds like such a long time. I can't believe he has put up with me for so long. :) We didn't get to celebrate yet though. We are hoping to have a little getaway to Mesquite sometime. Don't know when yet, but sometime soon.
So my last interesting thing happened on Wednesday. I went to crossing-guard in the morning and there was an officer sitting in his truck there. I thought "oh good, that will help people be more aware". Sometimes they will stand on the corner with us or just park where people can see them. Anyway, I had forgotten it was National Walk to School Day and so that is why he was there. He ended up getting out of his truck and visiting with us. In the mean time another officer also showed up. At one point a truck pulling a trailer went through the intersection going very fast so the first officer jumped into his vehicle and took off after the truck. He came back a short time later and we were telling him he should sit on the corner a little more often so people would behave. And he said "why so I can give you a ticket just like that guy I just chased down?" And of course I asked him what the heck he was talking about and he proceeded to tell me my plates were expired. I about died. I couldn't believe it. I told him Ray usually does it and just forgot. He told me he would cut me a break this time. Dang, I lucked out. Can you believe that. We took the car and got it all taken care of that same day.

What Flavor is it??

On Thursday Nate and Hazel had an ultrasound and found out they are having a...baby. Nope, I'm not going to tell you what it is. But Hazel has posted it on their blog so you will have to check it out there. Just a little clue - Hazel and I guessed right.

No matter what it is, everything looked good on the ultrasound, and that is the important thing. We are so excited!!

Busy, busy, busy!

If you can't tell, I have been working more hours, which means blogging is not first priority. We have had some things happen that I haven't blogged yet, so I'm finally trying to get it done.

Last week Ashton advanced from Cub Scout's to Boy Scout's. He received his Webelos award and is going to Boy Scout's for the first time tonight. We are proud of him for this accomplishment, especially since some of the things to pass off are hard for him and some of them we have to alter a little. But he does it and passes off the requirements. Way to go Buddy!

Then about a month ago Ambrea made her first big purchase. It's exciting and yet kind of sad because it is another step towards becoming an adult, and that is scary for me. She bought a Toyota Tacoma. She was able to go to the bank and get the loan all by herself. She is such a responsible kid. When she was in 8th grade she told us that she wanted a Tacoma, and now she has accomplished that goal. Good job Ambrea!
